Connecticut Laurel Girls State

ALA LGS Political Parties

 

Just like the State of Connecticut, Laurel Girls State has political parties.  Prior coming to Girls State, each girl is assigned to either the Nationalist or the Federalist party.   

 

Like the two major parties in CT, the Nats and the Feds elect party leadership, create their platform (shared set of beliefs), nominate state-wide candidates at a convention, partake in a rally, and campaign for their slate candidates.

 

Each year, both the Nats and Feds create a new platoform, mascot, cheers, and game plan for the election.
