Girls sent to Laurel Girls State must be selected by the sponsoring Unit/Post. The Units may look to the high schools in their area for recommendations, but the final selection is always the Unit's decision.
EACH GIRL MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS BEFORE BEING CONSIDERED AS A CANDIDATE:
Must have just completed her junior year of high school or be within one month of completion. Home school applicants must show equivalency.
Must reside in the state of Connecticut.
Must show a willingness to learn about government and citizenship.
Must have a class ranking or the equivalent of a B average.
Must show leadership skills, good moral character, be cooperative, responsible and eager to participate.
Must be in good health.
